June 2007 Newsletter Hi GET Power Club Members ! Before the month runs out, I wanted to do a brief update. As was mentioned in the last Newsletter, the stadium events for this year, July 2007, had to be pushed back to next year. This was a big disappointment but we simply did not have enough witnesses to move forward. Dennis has told the dealers (like me) that July 2008 is the dead line. We will have the stadium events next year regardless of the witness count. The engine kit technology is coming right along but it too is a bumpy ride. HAFC: The HAFC install is kind of a daunting task the first time out even for a trained mechanic. The feedback I am hearing through the Dealer Hotline is that about 1/2 of the first 200 kits are having install issues. Most of the problems are misunderstanding of the instruction issues and I can handle most of them. But there are another group of issues that are actually design issues and Dennis Lee says that we just have to be patient on those... they will be corrected over the next several weeks. The design issues are almost all with the O2ptomizer module. There is a total redesign going on to "smarten" the box. S0 ... if you got a good first run (like I did, >80 mpg) and then it drops back to pre-kit levels and you know that the Fuel Cell is producing gas and you have mixed the Fuel Conditioner properly and there are no fuel leaks and the gas dryer is not filling up ... it's probably the O2ptomiser. The small LED on the side of the module should be cycling very slowly green then off. Don't mess with the 2 adjustment potentiometers yet. If this is the case for you, just shut the switch off on the O2ptomizer and the Fuel Cell and just stop adding the Fuel Conditioner chemicals and then just drive. It will allow your on-board computer to come back into range and then we can determine if you hooked up the O2ptomizer wrong or if you'll need the new 3x (smarter) module. It may be 3 or 4 weeks before they are available though. ... That's essentially where I am with my PT Cruiser. There is the first 2 Master Mechanic classes going on next week. They will be fielding all the questions, answering them and filming the 4 and 8 cylinder installations and then feeding those DVDs out to the dealers. They will also beef up the tech support web site with all that is learned as well. If you haven't looked at it yet, visit www.installersupport.info . maybe you'll find what you've had a problem with. If you’ve been putting off purchasing a HAFC kit so as to let all the bugs get worked out before you commit … I understand. The HAFC kit issues will be resolved. The technology is sound. The first stout hearted souls got the best price on the kits because they were willing to help us work out the bugs. Thank you guys ! We couldn’t do this without you. Once we cross over, the price will go back to the standard Club price of $805 plus FL State tax and $25 shipping. Right now, Club members can purchase a kit for $800 all inclusive. So, there’s about a $90 savings by buying now. Retail price on the kit will go to $995. Read up on the kits at the Engine Technologies page of the Club site, www.getpowerclub.com/engmod.htm PICC: Dennis related today that the new engine that was purchased for the test stand at the dynamometer facility near Detroit has been installed. The team is setting the Chrysler 318 cuin V8 to be tested in an SUV type application. They also took the old engine off the stand and rebuilt the transmission and then installed it (with the PICC kit) in a company owned Dodge conversion van. We wanted to test the PICC kit on the road in typical driving conditions. Unfortunately, while driving the van back to our lab in Newfoundland NJ, our mechanic was rear ended by a teenage drunk driver who hit the van going >100 mph ! Our mechanic was unhurt, praise the LORD, but we think that the van will have to be totaled out. He was able to limp the van into the lab but it is now undriveable. I’m not sure whether the prototype PICC can even be salvaged. … It feels to me like our enemy (Satan) just does not want us to get this kit launched but, “If GOD be for us, who can stand against us ?” That’s all for now folks ! GOD Bless, Roger
